This picturesque Levada walk takes place in the Northeast part of the island, through the Laurel forest. The walk starts at Ribeiro Frio and this Levada was the water channel used to irrigate the farmlands in this area. Through this native forest you will come across various species of birds commonly found in Madeira.
The walk ends in Portela at a great viewpoint overlooking the villages of Faial and Porto da Cruz.

Along a century old Levada our walk takes us through the enchanting native forest overlooking the magnificent valley of Sao Jorge. At the end of this walk we stop at a local café where you may try a local drink. We stop briefly in Santana where you can see the typical Madeira thatched houses built in a triangular shape.

Paradise Valley

Starting in Caminho do Pico do Infante and ending in Rochao this easy and very picturesque walk along the Levada da Serra do Faial is ideal for beginners. Enjoy wonderful views of the coast, the mountains and of the settlements around Camacha.
After the walk we stop at a local bar where you can taste a “Poncha” a local drink made of rum, honey and lemon (included in the price).

The Great Peaks

This mountain walk starts at Pico Ruivo 1810m above sea level. From here we head off into the interior of the island to Pico Ruivo 1862m walking through enormous towers of volcanic rocks embellished with basalt dykes. We then reach the central mountain range which separates the north from the south, with views as far as they eye can see. This walk is a must for adventure seekers.

Countryside Secrets

A gentle walk which takes us through cultivated terraces and panoramic views overlooking the Eagle’s Rock proudly standing on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. At the end of the walk you can sit and enjoy the local “Americano” wine whilst admiring the fantastic views over Porto da Cruz.
